What's your introduction say about you?

Who are you?   How do you introduce yourself at an event?  Do you mention a title, a department, a company?

Titles today have less alignment with roles than they did decades ago.  We take on labels like superstar, guru or COO and act as if the word personifies who we are.   Not only that, we expect the world to know what this means.  To entrepreneurs and those of us who explore multiple roles and never quite fit in, these titles don’t work.  They don’t encapsulate all that we are and everything that we do.

This expectation of a static view of ourselves, leaves me dreading networking events.  How do you juggle roles and responsibilities while coming across credible and not reinforcing a wonderwoman or superman syndrome?

If you're like me and have numerous projects that you work on, how do you wrap that up and deliver it in a thirty second bow?  There is an ebb and flow to progress and creativity.  How do you convey this movement with enough gusto to hook and keep your audience engaged?

We all face similar challenges.   Think about how you introduce yourself.  Do you like who you are?  Think about where are you today, where you want to be and how to get there.

Don’t just dismiss ideas or thoughts.  Open yourself to other perspectives, interpretations, ways of being.  Be open to this amazing journey that we are all on.
